Action space
Physical AI
The set of actions available to an agent and the representation used to express them.
For robots, actions may describe joint targets, velocities, end effector poses or gripper commands. Units, coordinate frames, bounds and whether values are absolute or relative must be documented. Numerically similar arrays can command different behavior when those conventions differ.
In practice
A translation recorded in millimetres must not be interpreted as metres, and a relative movement must not be treated as an absolute position.
