Aligning measurements from different sensors to a consistent time reference.
Timestamp matching can pair observations within an agreed tolerance. That tolerance should reflect the task and sensor rates. Similar timestamps do not by themselves prove simultaneous capture when clocks, processing delays or timestamp conventions differ.
In practice
A camera frame showing contact is checked against the force reading from the same physical moment, rather than a later sample.
