Simulation to reality transfer
Physical AI
Applying a model or policy learned in simulation to a physical environment.
Differences in appearance, sensing, contact and dynamics can affect transfer. Varying simulated conditions is one way to improve robustness, but performance still needs evaluation under the intended physical conditions. Keep simulated and real evidence identifiable when reviewing a mixed dataset.
In practice
A simulated insertion succeeds with ideal alignment but fails on hardware with friction and calibration differences.
