Rubric

A structured set of criteria and scoring rules for evaluating a piece of work or data.

A useful rubric states what each dimension means, what evidence supports each score and how to treat uncertainty. It may combine categories, numeric scales and required conditions. The customer owns the intended standard; experts apply it and help expose ambiguity.
